The Blog - a place to expand on the 'approaches' page of this site and provide a little insight ( should you be interested ) into the daily quiet of my studio life. It is simple stuff - what I am listening to is always top of the list.

I am a touch obsessive about music and it is possibly the biggest influence on the work. Right now it's 'Oh Land' especially 'Wolf and I' - often on repeat. And this is a part of the resulting unfinished painting, its about 250 cms long........... A held over memory of a cold dark day icefishing about 5 years ago.  Sometimes they sit awhile in my head before they end up on canvas, or in this case pale blue-grey linen. Right now the paintings want to go dark and spacious.
